Sylvester married Florence G. Bussell on 6 September 1946 in Solon, Maine.³ Maurice A. Sylvester died on 27 April 2012 in Gorham, Cumberland County, Maine, at the age of 88⁴ and is buried in Sylvester Cemetery, Durham, Androscoggin County, Maine.⁴
