     Rev. Thomas Shepard was born on 5 November 1605 in Towcester, Northamptonshire.1,2 He was the son of William Shepard and (unknown) Bland.3 Rev. Thomas Shepard graduated in 1627 M.A. (Cantab.), Emmanuel College.4 He married probably in Margaret Touteville on 23 July 1632 in Buttercrambe, Yorkshire.2,5 Rev. Thomas Shepard emigrated on 10 August 1635 arriving in New England 3 October.2 He married secondly Joanna Hooker, daughter of Rev. Thomas Hooker and Susannah Garbrand, in October 1637.6 Rev. Thomas Shepard married thirdly Margaret Boradaile, daughter of John Boradell, on 8 September 1647.7,8 Rev. Thomas Shepard died on 25 August 1649 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, at the age of 43.1,9

Rev. Thomas Shepard1

     Rev. Thomas Shepard. Congregational minister.2 He was born on 5 April 1635 in London, England.3 He was the son of Rev. Thomas Shepard and Margaret Touteville.3 Rev. Thomas Shepard graduated in 1653 from Harvard BA.2 He married Anna (or Hannah) Tyng, daughter of Capt. William Tyng and Elizabeth Coytemore, on 5 November 1656 in Charlestown and inherited Tyng's Mt. Wollaston Farm that later descended to Col. John Quincy and President John Quincy Adams. Thomas Shepard's land is mentioned in town records in 1673 when the road to Hough's Neck was laid out.1,4,5 Rev. Thomas Shepard was ordained on 13 April 1659.6 He died on 22 December 1677 in Charlestown, Massachusetts, at the age of 42 having contracted smallpox from a dying parishioner who had requested a pastoral visit.2
