Jenifer Ann Slack. Peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family on April 21, 2022 at 78 years of age. Beloved wife of Ken for 56 years. Proud and loving mother of Greg (Jeffrey Boerwinkle) and Alison (Dave Baron) and adoring cat grandma to Trevor. Caring sister of Lynette of British Columbia and kind aunt of Sarah and Laura. She will be profoundly missed by her family and friends, especially Linda, Trevor, Angela and Amy.
Born in London, England Jenifer began teaching in Ottawa when she was 19 and upon retiring, became an instrumental member of the Retired Women Teachers of Ontario (RWTO). Jenifer’s love of skiing led to her meeting Ken at Sommet Edelweiss. After dating less than a year, they married on Christmas Eve.
Avid travelers, “Jenn & Ken” took their family on adventures all over the world and created many happy memories of evening skates on the canal, cross-country and downhill skiing, and seasonal nature hikes throughout the region. Jenifer expressed her innate creativity through tole painting, gardening and cooking, and took great joy in hosting get-togethers with her dearest card-making friends. Sincere thanks to the staff of the Ottawa General Hospital for their outstanding and compassionate care.
