     Mercy Sewall was born on 21 February 1742 in York, Maine, (or 24 Feb.)1 She was the daughter of Samuel Sewall and Hannah Kelly.2 Mercy Sewall married Capt. Joseph Sewall, son of Capt. Samuel Sewall and Sarah Batchelder.1 Mercy Sewall died on 22 November 1812 in York, Maine, at the age of 701,3 and is buried in South Side Cemetery, York Village, York County, Maine.4

     Mercy Hannah Sewall was born on 27 September 1815 in Bath, Sagadahoc County, Maine.2,3 She was the daughter of Joseph Sewall and Hannah Shaw.4,1 Mercy Hannah Sewall married Governor Samuel Cony, son of Gen. Samuel Cony, on 17 October 1833 in Farmington, Maine, at the same time as her sister, Mary Margaret married John Randolph Cony.1,2 Mercy Hannah Sewall died on 9 April 1847 in Old Town, Penobscot County, Maine, at the age of 31.2,3

Merrill Sewall1

     A farmer of Island Falls, Maine.2 Merrill Sewall was born on 17 July 1891 in Island Falls, Maine.2 He was the son of William Wingate Sewall and Mary Alice Sherman.1 At some time he was in charge of his brother's camps at Mattawamkeag Lake and in the 1920 census his occupation is given as guide (woods) though by the 1930 census he is a fireman on the railroad.1,3,4 Merrill Sewall married Myrtle Gertrude Trafton, daughter of Rev. E.M. Trafton, on 12 October 1912 in Island Falls, Maine.5 Merrill Sewall and Myrtle Gertrude Trafton appear on the census of 1920 at Island Falls, Maine, he gives his occupation as guide in the woods.6 Merrill Sewall died on 29 August 1961 in Island Falls, Maine, at the age of 707 and is buried in Island Falls Cemetery, Island Falls, Aroostook County, Maine.8

Sewall and Gertrude Loraine Casey.1 Michael Casey "Mike" Sewall married Mary Margaret Jacobsen, daughter of Del Jacobsen and Helen Beavers, on 27 February 1954 in Iowa City.2 Michael Casey "Mike" Sewall died on 29 July 2011 in University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa, at the age of 87.2,3

Michael "Mike" Casey Sewall, 87, of North Liberty, died Friday, July 29, 2011, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics of complications related to dementia and Alzheimer's disease. To celebrate Mike's life, friends may join the family Thursday at the Elks Club, 637 Foster Rd, Iowa City, from 3:30 to 6 p.m.

Mike was born Aug. 28, 1923, in Iowa City, the son of Frank and Gertrude Casey Sewall. He was a graduate of City High School and attended the University of Iowa. Mike was a pilot in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. On Feb. 27, 1954, Mike married Mary Margaret Jacobsen in Iowa City.
Mike had been employed by National Cash Register (NCR) for over 40 years. He was a member of the Elks Club and the City High School and UI Alumni Associations. He liked to garden, go boating and do his woodworking. Mike enjoyed the winters spent in Mesa, Ariz.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mary; and their four children, Peg Fitzpatrick of Philadelphia, Patrick (Laura) Sewall of Boise, Idaho, Tom (Carol) Sewall of Springfield, Mass., and Theresa (Todd) Hollander of New Orleans, La; eight grandchildren, Matt, Leigh, Kathleen, Jessica, Greg, Steven, Spencer and Alex; and one sister, Margaret Ford of Oregon.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents.3
