Cora Alice Sewall

F, #22664, b. 6 October 1923, d. 7 June 2010
Cora Alice Sewall was born on 6 October 1923 in Jacksonville, Texas.1 She was the daughter of James Krouse Sewall and Trannie McKnight. Cora Alice Sewall married firstly Albert Anderson on 26 July 1943 in California. Cora Alice Sewall married secondly Norman "Muzzy" Muzeroll. Cora Alice Sewall died on 7 June 2010 in Spokane, Royal Park Care Center, Washington, at the age of 86.

In Memory of
Cora Alice (Sewall) Muzeroll
October 6, 1923 - June 7, 2010

MUZEROLL, Cora Alice (Sewall, Anderson)
Our beloved mother, Cora "Alice" Muzeroll, peacefully passed away on the morning of Monday, June 7, 2010, with her son Mark by her side. She lived at Royal Park Care Center for the last two years, following a stroke in 2008. Mom was born in Jacksonville, Texas, on October 6, 1924, to James and Trannie Sewall, the sixth of nine children. She grew up during the great depression on a small farm in Jacksonville. Her parents would often invite men who were traveling the country, looking for work, to sleep in their barn. Trannie would feed them a delicious meal, she passed her love for cooking on to mom, and she became one of the world's best.
During WWII, mom followed her brother William to Los Angeles where she became a riveter at an airplane factory. In 1942 she met a Marine Sergeant, Albert Anderson in San Diego. They were married in California on July 26, 1943. After the war, mom and dad moved to Spokane and settled in the Shadle area of north Spokane. Four sons and a daughter came soon after. Mom worked as a cook at the old St. Luke's hospital and later volunteered at the American Cancer Society's Discovery Shop on Garland.
Albert died of cancer in 1975; mom married Norman "Muzzy" Muzeroll a few years later. Muzzy had a stroke in 2000, and Mom took care of him at home as long as she could. After he went to a nursing home, she was there every day. Muzzy died in 2003; mom got lonely and so, she moved to Royal Plaza, into a nice apartment and made lots of great friends.
We will miss her cream puffs, her saying "well" and "I'm tired" in her Texas accent, her kindness, love and support. Most of all, her wonderful sense of humor.
Mom was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands; her brothers, James, William, Francis, and Robert Sewall; and her sister, Mabel Owens. She is survived by her sisters, Ellen Belk and Carol Cone; her brother, Charles Sewall; her children, Dennis and Diane Anderson, Barbara Nelson and Paul Giersch, Roger and Cathie Anderson, Brian and Dianne Anderson, and Mark Anderson, who lovingly watched over her and was at the nursing home every day; her grandchildren, Wendy Anderson, Melissa Muller, Sarah Anderson, and Ashley Nelson; four stepchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear friends, including Esther McCauley and Ellen Dahlen.
We would like to thank all the nurses and staff at Royal Park Care Center for your loving care of our mother.
Visitation will be on Saturday fro 10 AM to Noon. Funeral services will follow at 1 PM on Saturday, June 19, 2010, at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home, 1306 North Monroe in Spokane, with reception following. Burial will be at Spokane Memorial Gardens, next to Albert.2

Cynthia Sewall Baker, 91, of Oxford, Ohio, died Feb. 25, 2015, at Woodland Country Manor.

Cynthia was born April 8, 1923, in Wakefield, Mass., to William and Sarah Trask Sewall. During her growing-up years she lived in Akron, Ohio, New York, N.Y., and finally in Hudson, Ohio, where she graduated from Hudson High School. She moved on to earn a BA degree from Lake Erie College for Women. She continued her studies in ceramics at the Cleveland Museum of Art and secretarial training in Cleveland, Ohio. Later, in the 1960s she completed a mail-order writing course at the Famous Writers School. She devoted her married life primarily to her family and volunteer church activities such as Sunday School teaching, Women’s Bible study leadership, Youth Group leadership with her husband, various church committees and boards, and church secretary with another lady (Marlene Roeper). She did have a temporary job in the 1960s as substitute teacher in the Loveland, Ohio, schools, and she held a clerk position for two and a half years with Nutone while John was in Seminary. She was also a real spark plug as a pastor’s wife during her husband’s pastoral career at the Palo Congregational Church in Aurora from 1980 to 1993, when he retired. John and Cynthia chose to retire in Palo, buying about five acres of land on Loon Lake about one-fourth miles north of the church and building a home there. They continued to live a happy retirement on the shore of beautiful Loon Lake in Palo (Aurora) until entering their 80s, when old age made it advisable to move closer to family in Oxford, Ohio. This move took place in December 2007. Her health continued to fail, leading to her entry in December 2012 into the Woodland Country Manor nursing home, located near Oxford, Ohio. She was still a resident there when she passed away.

She is survived by her husband and three children.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, John Ladd Sewall.4

Suffering much from feeble health during the past winter, he seems to have had a premonition of his approaching departure. The following words are extracted from a letter he wrote the Managers of the Bible Society six weeks previous to his death: "I am waiting to see what the Lord is preparing for me - life or death - permanent disability or recovery."4,7 and is buried in Maple Cemetery, Winthrop, Kennebec County, Maine.8
