CARIBOU – Belinda Sewall Page died unexpectedly April 15, 2005, at her home. Belinda was born Jan. 29, 1948, in Caribou. She was a graduate of Caribou High School, Class of 1966, and the University of Maine, Class of 1971, during her college career she was awarded a fellowship to study abroad in Dublin, Ireland. Early in her career, she was a librarian at the W.C. Foster School in Washburn. Belinda worked for more than 20 years for the Aroostook County Action Program, and for years as director of preschool services where she developed and managed strong HeadStart and daycare programs for the county. She also was instrumental in the establishment of a Migrant HeadStart Center to serve migrant workers, which served as a model in the development of other such centers nationwide. Belinda served on the board of directors for the Northern Maine Fair Association and in that capacity she was director of the fair horseshow for many years. An avid horsewoman, Belinda owned horses for most of her life, enjoying riding around the fields of northern Maine and also owning standardbred racehorses for many years. Belinda also loved the outdoors, reading, traveling, studying history and her beloved pets. Belinda was predeceased by her parents, James H. “Bill” and Margaret S. Page of Caribou. She is survived by daughters, Alexandra S. Weeks and husband, Cdr. Marc Weeks, of Jacksonville, Fla. and Hannah S. F. Carter and friend, Michael Linzmayer, of Gainesville, Fla; her brother, James H. Page and sister-in-law, Liane E.M. Judd of Old Town; and niece, Madeline S.J. Page of Old Town. She is also survived by her godmother, Louise G. Moody of Old Town; aunt, Elizabeth Gary of Buzzards Bay, Mass; uncle, Joseph Sewall of Castine, and a number of cousins and extended family members. She was especially close to her cousin, Laura P. Mills of Phoenix, Ariz. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, with a reception to follow at St. Luke’s, Caribou. Spring Burial will be in the Christ Congregational Cemetery, Fort Kent. Funeral arrangements are being made by Lancaster Funeral Home, Caribou. There will be no visiting hours. Those wishing may make a contribution in her memory may to the Caribou Public Library. The Bangor Daily News.

     Prof. Charles Grafton Page. Physicist. He was born on 25 January 1812 in Salem, Massachusetts. He graduated in 1832 from Harvard and then studied medicine in Boston. He married Priscilla Sewall Webster, daughter of John Ordway Webster and Rebecca Guild Sewall, on 23 September 1844.1 Prof. Charles Grafton Page died on 5 May 1868 in Washington, District of Columbia, at the age of 56 and is buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Washington, District of ColumbiaCounty, District of Columbia.2

In 1838 he settled in Virginia and there followed his profession for a couple of years until he was appointed to the chair of chemistry in Columbian University, Washington. He was made examiner in the Patent-Office in 1840 and continued in that post until his death.
