CURRY-Frank Albe Curry, passed away after a long illness, Tuesday, July 11, 2006 in Arcadia, California. He is mourned by his daughter, Julianne Curry of Arcadia, his son Ron Curry and his beloved grandsons, Spencer and Sam all of Glastonbury, CT. Although born in North Carolina, Frank lived in Arcadia nearly all his life. He served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II and fought in the Philippines and Okinawa campaigns. Frank attended both USC and UCLA and received a Master's degree in Psychology from Long Beach State. Along with his adored wife Norma, who preceded him in death, Frank became a second father to Klaus Lucke, now of Bremen, Germany, through the American Field Service foreign exchange organization.
In private practice of psychotherapy for 45 years, Frank dedicated his life to his many clients who were profoundly touched by his insight, compassion and wisdom. He was active in civil aspects of his profession and worked to establish support groups and change laws on sexual abuse. He generously treated both Hollywood professionals and homeless persons with the same respect and kindness. A true renaissance man who was first and foremost a gentleman of the highest caliber, he will be deeply missed by his loving family, lifelong friends and devoted clients.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Fund for the Gorman Preserve, 460 W. Huntington Dr., Unit A, Arcadia, CA 91107, Frank's environmental passion he shared with his lifelong colleague, Rose Mary Bryan.
