Granville Pierce Sewall graduated in 1867 from Williams College and Auburn Theological Seminary in 1870.6,7 He married Rosamond Eliza Cole, daughter of Harvey T. Cole and Caroline A. Waterman, on 24 September 1879 in Williamstown, Berkshire County, Maine, the marriage was conducted by A.C. Sewall, Pastor of the Congregational Church in Williamstown. There were three children of this marriage but only one was living in 1900.3 Rev. Granville Pierce Sewall died on 31 May 1928 in Aurora, New York, at the age of 86.7

Grenville Strong Sewall died on 20 March 1992 in Tryon, North Carolina, at the age of 90.1

TRYON - Grenville Strong Sewall, 90, of 1612 Carolina Drive, Tryon, died Friday, March 20, 1992, at his home.
A native of Rome, N.Y., he was a son of the late Dr. and Mrs. Charles G. Sewall and husband of Robbin C. Sewall, who died in 1987. He was a graduate of Albany Academy of Albany, N.Y., Williams College in Williamstown, Mass., and Harvard Law School. He lived in Rye, N.Y., and was a partner in the law firm of Milbank, Tweed, Hope and McCloy in New York City, representing Chase Manhattan Bank. He was an elder of Rye Presbyterian Church for 25 years and moderator of the Presbytery of Westchester County for a year. He was mayor of Rye, N.Y., from 1944 to 1948.
In Tryon he served on the board of the Red Cross, Tryon Country Club, St. Luke's Hospital, Tryon Fine Arts Center, Tryon Little Theatre and NCNB Bank. He was a lifelong summer resident of Christmas Cove, Maine.
Survivors include a daughter, Clare S. Ames of Franklin, Mass; a son, Charles G. Sewall of Portland, Maine; a brother, Richard B. Sewall of New Haven. Conn; four grand-children and two great-grandchildren.3

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids and one hour prior to the services Thursday at the church.
Gretchen J. Elsesser was born Jan. 13, 1912 in St. Louis Park to Leon & Gertrude (Gilbertson) Sewall. She married William Elsesser on March 2, 1930 in Kenyon, MN. Gretchen moved to the St. Cloud area in 1977. She was a cook at Washburn High School in Minneapolis for 17 years, retiring in 1973. Gretchen was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, and fancy work.
Survivors include her daughter and sons, Nancy (Marv) Bentley of St. Cloud, Todd of Rice, and Jeffrey (Betty) of Mounds View; 14 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and many great great grandchildren.
Gretchen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William on June 8, 1972; daughters, Joanne Schulte and Sarah “Sally” Nelson; sister, Dorothy Duel; and brothers, Orman “Pat”, Ralph, Gordon, Jack “Warren”, and Earl Sewall.

     Hannah Sewall was born on 17 May 1774.2 She was the daughter of Colonel Dummer Sewall and Mary Dunning.1 Hannah Sewall was baptised on 3 July 1774.2 She married Martin Cushing, son of Peter Cushing and Silence Burr, on 26 October 1794 in Bath, Sagadahoc, Maine.2,3 Hannah Sewall died on 27 May 1842 in Winthrop, Maine, at the age of 68.2

     Hannah Sewall was born in 1789.2 She was the daughter of Henry Sewall and Sarah Henry.1 Hannah Sewall married Capt. Truman Allen, son of William Allen and Love Coffin, on 11 September 1816 in Bath, Sagadahoc, Maine, the marriage being solemnised by the Rev. John W. Ellingwood.3,4 Hannah Sewall died in 1852 (or 1818 Butler.2)

     Hannah Sewall was born on 8 March 1739.2 She was the daughter of Samuel Sewall and Hannah Kelly.1 Hannah Sewall married, as his second wife Benjamin Bourne, son of John Bourne and Mary Cousens, in March 1765.3 Hannah Sewall died on 23 January 1829 at the age of 89.3
