Henry Stafford Tyndale Biscoe was born on 1 October 1857.1 He was the son of William Earle Biscoe and Elizabeth Carey Sandeman. Henry Stafford Tyndale Biscoe married Frances Ethel Primrose, daughter of Francis Neil Primrose and Henrietta Elizabeth Story Sewell, on 22 January 1884 in St. Luke's, Torquay, Devon,

The marriage of Mr. H. Stafford T. Biscoe eldest son of W. E. Biscoe, Esq., of Holton Park, Oxfordshire, with Miss F. E. Primrose, only child of the late F. N. Primrose, Esq., of Bixley Hall, Norfolk, was celebrated at St. Luke’s, Torquay, on Tuesday morning, the 22nd inst. The Rev. P. Williams, Rector of Rewe, Exeter, cousin of the bride, officiated, assisted by the Rev. W. S. Boyle, Vicar of the parish. The service was choral, Hymn 360 being sung as the bride came up the aisle, and Hymn 379 at the conclusion of the service. The bride was given away by her uncle, Mr. E. M. Primrose, and was attended by six bridesmaids — Miss M. and Miss A. Halliday, Miss Claudine Primrose, Miss Mary Harris, Miss Tyndale-Biscoe, and Miss M. Mackenzie. The bride wore an ivory Duchesse satin dress, trimmed with Brussels lace, tulle veil, and wreath of orange blossoms. The dresses of the bridesmaids were pale blue embroidered muslin, trimmed with cream lace; straw hats with lace and blue feathers. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr. A. S. Tyndale-Biscoe, R.A., as best man. After the register was signed the guests returned to Sorel, the residence of Mrs. G. C. Harris, the bride’s aunt, for the wedding breakfast. Mr. and Mrs. Stafford Biscoe left Torquay at three o’clock for Salisbury, en route for Westfield, Hayling Island, lent to them by Mrs. Sandeman, the bridegroom’s grandmother. The bride’s travelling dress was dark grey cashmere and velvet costume, trimmed with brown maratout, and grey bonnet with a red feather. Amongst the wedding presents, which were very numerous and handsome, were particularly noticeable a handsome walnut wood library writing-table, presented by the tenant farmers of the Holton Estate and T. E. Withington, Esq., of Holton Cottage; a handsome revolving breakfast dish, by the cottage tenants; a pair of silver-gilt sugar tongs and tea scoop and bedroom candlestick, by the servants at Holton Park; a family Bible, by the mistress and children of Holton School; and a silver tea service and candlesticks, by the tenants of the Bixley Hall Estate and — Hansell, Esq.1,2
